Shirley E. Loose, 79, died Thursday at 1:35 p.m. in her residence at 1140 Green Street.
Her husband, Howard J. Loose, died Nov. 18, 1989.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Ross and Helen (Bierbower) Stevens.
Loose had been employed 18 years as an inspector by the former Berkshire Knitting Mills, Wyomissing, and was last employed for 16 years as an inspector by Grafika Commerical Printing Inc., Sinking Spring, until her retirement.
Surviving are a daughter, Marilyn L. (Loose) Carey, with whom she last resided; and two sons: Leonard H., Reading, and William V., Molltown.
Other survivors include two sisters, Ethel (Stevens) Deeds, West Reading, and Leone (Stevens) Eastwood, Levittown, Bucks County.
There are also five grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Services will be private. The sanders Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
