Comments: There is a Keim "Brides Box", Item #181A at the DAR Museum in Washington DC. On the lid of that Box, on Ludwig's side, there is an inscription in black that reads "Anno Domini 1660" in Roman numerals. It is my strong contention that Berta had that inscription applied when Ludwig died in 1660. There is no other logical for that inscription in the manner it was applied. It is further my strong contention that this Box was given to Berta by Ludwig in or around their wedding date of 1618, he having made same or having had it made for her. Why else would there be the very personal and loving wording on the lower part of the Box in German of that day? Regards, Ken Williams (My great grandmother was Serrah Emma Keim, married to James K. P. Williams)
