May L. Bolich Bagenstose, 89, of Hamburg, died Tuesday in Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading. She had resided at the Laurel Center, Tilden Township, for the past two years.
Born in Drehersville, she was a daughter of the late Jacob H. and Edna Balthaser Bolich.
She graduated from Hamburg High School in 1939 and Kutztown State Teachers College in 1943.
May was a third-grade teacher in Hamburg from 1943 until she retired in 1982.
She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Hamburg, and Hamburg Senior Citizens.
She was a life member of the Retired Pennsylvania Public School Employees Association, Berks County Retired School Association and the Hamburg Area Retired Teachers Association.
May was preceded in death by two sisters, Rachel Bolich Rentschler and Sarah Bolich Supplee.
Surviving are a nephew, Earl Supplee III, husband of Lisa, Orefield; and a niece, Susan Morrison, Huntingdon Valley.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Bethany United Methodist Church, Hamburg. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Interment will be in Drehersville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church, 321 Island St., Hamburg, PA 19526 or Hamburg Public Library, 35 N. Third St., Hamburg, PA 19526. Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home Inc., Hamburg, is in charge of arrangements.
