Anna S. Himmelreich, 84, of Fleetwood, peacefully passed away on May 17, 2014 in her residence.
She was the wife of the late Lee K. Himmelreich, who passed in 1974. Born on October 23, 1929 in Oley Township, she was the daughter of the late William and Blanche (Rathje) Berndt.
She was a graduate of Oley Valley High School. Anna was employed for many years by the former Western Electric, Reading, retiring in 1978. She also helped George Miller IV Auction Co., Fleetwood to help set up for auctions. Other employment included the former Fleetwood Shirt Corp. Anna was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fleetwood and Ruscombmanor Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
She was a very loving and devoted mother who loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She never missed the Tuesday bowling club. Anna was an avid gardener who loved flowers that would surround her vegetable garden.
Anna is survived by children Elaine R. (Himmelreich), wife of the late Karl Bair, of Wilmington, Delaware; and Larry L. Himmelreich, husband of Deborah Himmelreich, of Reading. Also two grandchildren, Kristen (Bair), wife of Corey Hink, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Stephanie (Bair), wife of Matthew Hollinshead, of New Castle, Delaware; as well as great-grandchildren Evangeline Hink, Anastacya Hink, Ethaniel Hink, Abigail Hollinshead and Noah Hollinshead.
Also surviving are three siblings: Leona (Berndt), wife of the late Henry Heffner, of Douglasville; Leon Berndt, husband of Louisa Berndt, of Fleetwood and Rea Berndt, husband of Esther Berndt, of Reading. Anna was preceded in death by her grandson Eric R. Bair.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood.
