LeRoy Witwer Sr. 86, of Cumru Twp., passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at The Reading Hospital. Born in Mohnton, he was a son of the late John M. and Alice E. (Zerby) Witwer.
He retired as a machine operator from Interstate Container. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during WW II. He was a member of Saint John's Lutheran Church in Mohnton, and a lifetime member of the Pennwyn Motor Association of Mohnton, the Mohnton Memorial Post # 9045 V.F.W., the Gouglersville Fire Company, and the Fritztown Fire Company.
Surviving is his companion, Larue Nocera, and a son, LeRoy Witwer Jr. of Cumru Twp. and Darleen D. Beeswanger of Reading. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren. LeRoy was predeceased by a son, Dennis Witwer and two brothers.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service on Friday, June 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, S. Church Street, Mohnton. Friends may call on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Saint John's Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 5, Mohnton, PA 19540.
