Ruth D. Boyer, 101, formerly of Reading, died Aug. 14, 2007, in Sweet Bye-N-Bye Care Home, Salem, Ore.
Ruth lived most of her adult life in Reading, while married for 66 years to Clarence L. Boyer. Following his death on Oct. 19, 1994, she relocated to Hidden Lakes in Salem, Ore.
Born Nov. 27, 1905 and raised in Lebanon, she was a daughter of the late Milton and Lavina (Sheppler) Reed.
As avid tennis players, Ruth and her husband competed in many amateur city tournaments.
They were both members of Christ Lutheran Church, Glenside.
Surviving are her son, Kent R. Boyer and wife, Karen E., Salem, Ore.
Other survivors include her grandson, Lt. Col. Rick R. Boyer and his wife, Diane T. and two great-grandchildren, Garret and Wyatt, all of Tampa, Fla., and Canberra, Australia.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Lebanon. Taylor-Ruffner Funeral Home Inc., 712 Chestnut St., Lebanon, is in charge of arrangements.
