Elda May (Sunday) Miller, 97, of Windsor Twp. died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012, in her residence.
She was the wife of Leon H. Miller, who died Oct. 6, 1991.
Born in Windsor Twp. on June 23, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Thomas A. and Katie L. (Baver) Sunday. Elda was the last of her immediate family.
She was a life member of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perry Twp. She was also a member of the Virginville Fire Company; Ladies Auxiliary of the Shoemakersville Fire Company and beneficial association; and Central Berks Fire Company and beneficial association, Centerport.
Other than being a housewife, Elda did domestic work and baby sitting for many years until retiring in 1989. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, baking, reading, and her family. She also picked lots of walnuts and hickory nuts to bake cakes and cookies.
Elda is survived by four daughters: Esther M. (Miller) Levan, Tilden Twp., Linda A. (Miller), wife of Roy D. Sousley, Albany Twp., Rita L. (Miller) Lopez, companion of Kenneth R. Correll, Hamburg, and Donna K. Miller, Hamburg; and one son, Richard L. Miller, Windsor Twp.
There are 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grand-son.
Elda was predeceased by a daughter, Anna E. Miller, died in infancy in 1947; two sisters, Florence Sunday, died in 1906; and Naomi (Sunday) Mengel, died in 1998; and one brother, Lawrence Sunday, died in 1976.
Services will be on Saturday at 11 a.m. from Zion's Ev. Lutheran Church, 354 Zion's Church Road, Shoemakersville, PA 19555. Burial will follow in Zion's Cemetery, Perry Twp.
