David M. Wenrich, 82, Landisville, passed away in the morning of Oct. 18, 2008, in Lancaster Regional Medical Center, following a five-week illness.
Born in Robesonia, he was a son of the late Clayton Michael and Elsie M. (Putt) Wenrich. He was the husband of the late Ruth M. Wenrich, who passed away in May 2001.
David had moved to Lancaster in 1966 from Virginia.
He served with the United States Navy for 21 years, until he retired in 1970 as a chief petty officer.
He also served the East Petersburg Borough as a police officer for five years, then worked for United Refinery and also with Red Rose Interiors until he retired in 1991.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5956 in Manheim.
He will be remembered lovingly by his children: Charles R. 'Bud,' husband of Bonnie Bonte, Elizabethtown; David M. Jr., husband of Cara M. Wenrich, Hellam; Joseph E., husband of Connie M. DiNino, Reading; Dean R., husband of Roxanne Wenrich, Lititz; and Bonnie M. Simons, Wilmington, N.C.; 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a sister, Joan Noll, Myerstown.
A brother, William Wenrich, and a sister, LaRue Roth, preceded him in death.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
