Elton Y. Bachman, 80, of Tilden Twp., died Thursday, August 8, 2013 in Schuylkill Medical Center, South Jackson Street, Pottsville.
He was the husband of Flora J. (Shollenberger) Bachman, who died January 16, 2000.
Born in Bowers, he was the son of the late Edwin D. and Sallie L. (Yoder) Bachman.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War.
Elton was a bobcat operator for Evansville Cement Company until his retirement. He was a member of Union Fire Company #1 of Hamburg and beneficial association.
Elton enjoyed hunting, fishing, and stock car racing. He also enjoyed CB radio, and had the handle of LD.
Elton is survived by one brother, Edwin M. Bachman, Richmond Twp.; several Bachman and Shollenberger nieces and nephews; and his Shollenberger sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. He was predeceased by two brothers: Ralph and Calvin Bachman; and three sisters: Edna E. Reitenauer, Fern S. Muth and Pauline R. Bachman.
Services will be on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off-street parking in rear). Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Tilden Twp.
