Bernville, Aug. 20__Charles V. Davis, 54, died this morning at his home here. He was born and reared at Brunswick, Ga., and was a son of Alma (Douglass) and the late J. B. Davis. Death followed an illness of 11 months.
He had been employed by the Carpenter Steel Company in Reading; was a member of the Carpenter Steel Relief Assoication; the Lutheran denomination; Bernville Lodge 122, I. O. O. F.; Bernville Fire Company and its relief association.
Surviving are his widow, Ruth (Berns) Davis; two sons, Richard and Gene, at home; his mother, Mrs. Alma Davis, and a sister, Addie, wife of Archie Phillips, both of Jacksonville, Fla. The Kirkhoff Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
