Mrs. Marie E. (Gift) Ohlinger, 79, of Wernersville, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born November 21, 1941 in Kutztown, she was the daughter of the late Edna Mae (Rhodes) and Robert W. Gift. She and her husband of 55 years, Claude H. Ohlinger, were married on June 12, 1965 in St. Paul?s United Church of Christ, Kutztown. Marie worked for CNA Insurance as a secretary. She went on to work as a secretary for Met-Ed for over 23 years. Marie was enjoying her 51st year in music ministry. She was currently the organist at Bern Reformed UCC where she last played on Easter Sunday. She was active in the music ministry at Phoebe, Wernersville where she participated with the Choraliers and the 8 Hands piano group. She had previously been the organist at Maidencreek Church, Blandon, and Zions UCC, Windsor Castle. Marie was a 1959 graduate of Kutztown Area High School, a member of Bern Reformed UCC Church, the Ontelaunee Grange, and a longtime member and past secretary of the Blandon Lioness Club. She played piano for the Blandon Lions and Lioness? for many years and enjoyed all types of music, counted cross stitch and crocheting. Funeral Services for Marie will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 11:00 am at Bern Reformed UCC Church, 3196 Bernville Rd, Leesport. Burial will follow in Bern Cemetery. A viewing for Marie will be held Thursday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the church. Those attending Marie?s services are asked to wear masks, practice social distancing, and follow CDC guidelines.
