Fern M. Baer, 88, of Shoemakersville, passed away in her residence on Monday, March 5, 2018. She was the wife of William K. Baer, who died April 7, 2011.
Born in Tilden Twp., she was the daughter of the late Francis and Stella (Kauffman) Bagenstose.
Fern was a graduate of Perry High School. She worked for R.P. Miller, Shoemakersville.
For most of her life, Fern was a church organist, serving at St. Timothy's Church, Mohrsville, and The Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, Leesport. She was a member of The Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity where she was also a sexton, choir and handbell choir director, and member of altar guild and Lutheran Church Women. Fern taught piano lessons and enjoyed doing needlepoint.
Fern is survived by one son, David S. Baer and his wife, Patricia A. (Miller) Baer, Shoemakersville; three granddaughters: Danielle (Baer), wife of Matthew Herring,
Justine (Baer), wife of Jason Reading, and Adriana (Baer), wife of Bradley Auman; and three great-granddaughters: Skye, Kylah and Kenzie. She is also survived by one niece, Janet (Marks), wife of Robert Kreider, Centerport.
Fern was predeceased by a sister, Mabel (Bagenstose) Marks.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in St. Luke's Cemetery, Perry Twp.
