Kathryn K. (Potteiger) Cornbrooks, wife of the late Thomas E. Cornbrooks, of Parkhouse Providence Pointe Nursing Home, died Aug. 21, 2009. She was 102.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Kathryn (Kistler) Potteiger.
Mrs. Cornbrooks lived most of her life in Collingswood, N.J., as well as in South Coventry and at Parkhouse in Royersford.
She was employed at two gift shops in Collingswood, being manager at one. She attended Coventryville United Methodist Church, Coventryville, where she was active in the 'Owls' Ladies Group and annual Christmas Bazaar.
Surviving is her daughter, Kathryn Hipple of Pottstown; a sister, Dorothy Powell of Haddonfield, N.J.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Potteiger; and her sisters, Ann Carson, Helen Sherrill and Ruth Heath.
A funeral service was held Aug. 24 at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Pottstown. Interment followed at Harleigh Cemetery, Camden, N.J.
Surviving is her daughter Kathryn Hipple, wife of William, of Pottstown; sister Dorothy Powell of Haddonfield, NJ; grandchildren Tom Hipple, husband of Elaine and Eric Hipple, husband of Anita; and great grand children Stacy Kless, wife of Ben, and Ryan Hipple. She is also predeceased by her brother Charles Potteiger and her sisters Ann Carson, Helen Sherrill and Ruth Heath.
