- Uncles of Major Henry Yarde's first wife (Elizabeth Giraud nee Lawson) were John, Benjamin,& Richard Sullivan (through her maternal line) who obtained passage to India with the help of their kinsman Laurence Sulivan (1713-1786) Chairman & Director of the East India Co. who was a friend & supporter of Warren Hastings & knew Richard Barwell of Stanstead Park (1741-1804).Ref. 'Guardians Of The East India Company: The Life Of Laurence Sulivan' by George K McGilvary.
