Charles H. Stoner, 79, formerly of Shoemakersville, passed away Feb. 18, 2007, in Lancashire Hall Nursing & Rehabilitation Center Inc., Manheim Township, Lancaster County, where he had resided for three years.
He was the husband of Anna Marie L. (Styer) Stoner, Muhlenberg Township, for 50 years.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Claude and Susan (Wertz) Stoner.
Stoner served 24 years in the Air Force, retiring as master sergeant. He was later employed for 15 years as office manager/dental assistant by Reading Endodontics Ltd., St. Lawrence, retiring in 1985.
He was a member of St. Paul?s Lutheran Church, Reading, where he was active on the church council.
Stoner was a past president of the PTA in Wisconsin and was a longtime member of the Lions Club in Wisconsin.
He served on the water bureau in Shoemakersville and was a past president of Shoemakersville Senior Citizens.
Stoner was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels in Hamburg and director of the Funmakers Boomba Band, which played and was active in the Berks county area.
He also is survived by a son, Todd C. Stoner, Exeter Township; and a daughter, Holly A. (Stoner) Kasprzewski, Wyomissing.
Other survivors include two brothers, Marvin Stoner and Vincent Stoner, both of Muhlenberg Township; and a sister, Mary (Stoner) Hafer, Boyertown.
There is a grandson, Derrick J. Kasprzewski, Sinking Spring; and a granddaughter, Heather M. Kasprzewski, Wyomissing.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Auman Funeral Homes, Reiffton. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
