Cleon Fritz, 73, owned meat shop
Cleon M. Fritz, 73, formerly of 14 W. Main St., Adamstown, died Sunday afternoon at Ephrata Community Hospital, where he was a patient since Aug. 10. A self-employed butcher for 50 years, he owned Fritz's Meats, Adamstown. He had worked up until the time of his illness earlier this year.
He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Adamstown, the Adamstown Veterans of Foreign Wars, Adamstown Rod & Gun Club and the Gouglersville Fire Company. Gritz was also an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of the Lebanon Beagle Club. Bron in Adamstown, he wass the son of the late Oliver and Anna Witwer Fritz,
Surviving are a daughter, Beverly A., wife of John H. Haldeman of Denver; two granddaughters; a great-granddaughter; and a sister, Annabelle Schweitzer of Stevens.
