George B. "Fush" Heinbach, 81, of Sweet Arrow Lake Road, Pine Grove, died Wednesday, Apr. 25, in the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.
Born in Pine Grove, March 27, 1926, he was a son of the late George and Catherine M. Ankerbrand Bretz.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Summer Hill, and was a graduate of Pine Grove High School.
He was a corporal in the Army during World War II, having served in Central Europe, Northern France, Rhineland, GO 33 WD 45, and received the EAME Campaign Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the World War II Victory Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal.
He was a life member of both the Pine Grove American Legion Post 374 and the Pine Grove VFW Post 3432.
He retired from the postal service as a mail carrier.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Irene I. Gassert Heinbach; three sons, Keith Heinbach, Ricky Heinbach, all of Pine Grove, and Todd Heinbach, Kennett Square; a daughter, Wanda Hoffman, Pine Grove; three grandsons, Brett Lamar Heinbach, Drew Lamar Heinbach and Derek Harry Hoffman.
Funeral services were held Monday, Apr. 30, from the H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, with the Rev. Kathleen Ash-Flashner officiating. Interment was in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, West Wood Street, Pine Grove.
