Blubella E. (Augustine) Degler, 73, passed away Thursday, August 27. 2015 in her residence. She was the wife of Mervin P. Degler, who passed away June 20th.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late William Augustine and Esther (Conrad) Augustine-Mendelsohn
She was a member of Wyomissing UCC, Gouglersville, where she taught Sunday school for 48 years.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Conrad Weiser, Chapter #449, and a lifetime member of the Girl Scout Movement, where she was very active as a troop leader and consultant for over 43 years. She enjoyed volunteering, flowers, gardening, and doing crafts, to include crocheting linus blankets for the Linus Project. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchild.
She is survived by a son, Garry P. Degler husband of Karen K., Robesonia; two daughters, Cynthia M. wife of Kerry A. Strunk, Leesport, and Sharon E. wife of Todd J. Lincoln, Mohrsville; two brothers, Louis M. Augustine, husband of Mary, and William A. Augustine, husband of Beverly; a sister, Gloria M., wife of Donald Beamesderfer; five grandchildren, Andrew Degler, Kyle Lincoln, Korissa Lincoln, Shelby Strunk, and Cheyenne Strunk; and a great granddaughter, Kerrington Degler.
An Eastern Star service will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, Sept. 12th, at Wyomissing UCC, 2 Vermont Rd., Gouglersville, PA 19608, funeral services will follow immediately with her pastor, the Rev. Selina Hamilton officiating. Visitation with the family will be 9:30-11:00AM, Saturday. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
