Lucas M. Miller, 33, of West Lawn, passed away May 29, 2016 in the Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Md. He was the husband of Rebecca M. (Wentzel) Miller. Born in Reading, he was a son and step-son of Merlin A. Miller, husband of Tracey G., and a son of Marian (Peron) Miller.
Lucas was a graduate of Schuylkill Valley High School in 2001, where he played baseball and basketball.
He was a member of St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, Reading.
Lucas was employed as a truck driver for Yeager Supply for 10 years.
Lucas loved everyone, liked pizza and wore flip-flops all year round, except when he was running. He enjoyed listening to 93.3 WMMR with Preston and Steve in the mornings. He loved racing, especially motorcycles, biking and jogging. He regularly watched televised races. Even as a child, he enjoyed watching NASCAR's Davey Allison. He would only drive Fords.
Lucas was adored by all his family and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Lucas is survived by his daughter, Lucille Laverne Miller, at home; and one step-son, Spencer R. Essick, at home; his dog, Indy; one brother, Justin A. Miller, husband of Jennifer, of Leesport, and their children, Caleb A., Ryland L. and Oliva C.; three step-brothers: Tyler, Connor and Robbie; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his grandparents: Ray C. and Mary Miller; and Stephen and Helen Peron.
Lucas adored his children with such passion. He was so connected to them and took them everywhere in his travels. He taught Lucy to ride a two-wheel bike with no training wheels at 4 years old. He was dedicated to attending all of Spencer's sporting events and extracurricular activities. They were his breath in life and now he will watch over them from heaven the rest of their lives.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-4:00 p.m., with services beginning at 4:00 p.m., on Friday, June 3, 2016 in the Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Ave., Reading, PA 19606. Interment private in Leesport Cemetery.
