oanne M. Books, 59, of Sharon Hill, PA, formerly of Myerstown, died Sunday, December 11, 2016 from injuries sustained in an auto accident. She was born in on November 10, 1957, a daughter of Frances Risser Batdorf Leffler of Palmyra and the late Robert H. Batdorf. Joanne worked for various retail stores in the Philadelphia area. She was a member of the Myerstown Church of the Brethren. She also attended the Midway Church of the Brethren and the Glenolden Church. Joanne was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. Surviving in addition to her mother is a son, Jason M. Books of New Columbia, PA; sisters, Karen Moore of Lebanon; Faye Pagan and husband George of Myerstown; brother, Neal Batdorf of Waynesboro, PA; nieces, Sara Barnes of Lebanon; Ann Batdorf of Austin, TX; nephew, Joshua Pagan of Myerstown. She was preceded in death by a brother, David Batdorf. Memorial service will be held on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 1:30 PM in Myerstown Church of the Brethren, 51 West Stoever Ave., Myerstown, PA. A visitation will begin on Monday at 12 Noon until time of service. Joanne's family would like to invite all to attend a time of fellowship following the service in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Lebanon County, 150 N. Ramona Road, Myerstown, PA 17067. Rohland Funeral Home, Inc. is handling her arrangements.
