(5/11/1921-4/25/2012) Loving wife, mother and sister, Doris (Dolly) Hummel passed away last Wednesday in Raleigh, NC. Dolly was born in Pine Grove, PA, and lived in Middletown, Pa., where she was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. She moved to Raleigh in 1994 to be closer to family. She was an accomplished pianist and an avid Carolina Hurricanes' fan.
Her daughters are Michele A. Brooks of Raleigh, and Joanne M. Altier, spouse of Robert Altier, of Pittsboro, NC. She was predeceased by her parents Charles Schwartz and Miriam Kimmel Schwartz; loving husband and WWII veteran Harold (Mike) Hummel; brothers Charles, Horace and Cliff Schwartz; and grandson Michael Brooks. In addition to her daughters, she is survived by sister Hazel Keefer of Palmyra, Pa; granddaughters Kimberly Sheek Popkin and Kelly Brooks Jones; and great-grandchildren Leah Popkin, Ollie Jones, Ana Jones, Rusi Jones and Lula Jones.
