Robert A. Snyder, 74, of Myerstown, died Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at his residence with his wife by his side. He was the husband of Nancy A. (Beamesderfer) Snyder, to whom he was married 51 years on November 18, 2018.
Born in Frystown on January 17, 1945, he was the son of the late Allen S. and Mabel (Bashore) Snyder. After graduating from Bethel High School in 1963, he served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. His service continued on a local level as a member of both the Frystown Lions Club and the Little Swatara Church of the Brethren, Bethel.
Robert was employed as a foreman at Simeral Construction, Lancaster. At home, he enjoyed woodworking, cabinet-making, collecting antique plumb bobs, tending to resident bluebirds and the friendly competition of cards, board games and quoits.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Vincent, husband of Marjorie Snyder, of Northampton, Mass., Michael, husband of Janine Snyder, of Mt. Joy; a granddaughter, Greta Mae Snyder; sisters, Dorothy, wife of Bernard Ehrets, of Lebanon, Brenda, wife of John Kelly, of Frystown; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Monday, February 18, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Little Swatara Church of the Brethren, 31 Rehrersburg Rd., Bethel, preceded by a visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family.
