Martha J. (Clay) Lutz, 94, of Mt. Penn, passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022, in ManorCare Health Services-Sinking Spring. She was the wife of Richard K. Lutz who passed in 2001. Born in Robesonia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late William and Dorothy (Wenrich) Clay. Martha was a member of St. Paul?s Lutheran Church and she was employed in the Housewares/Small Appliance Department at the Boscov?s East Store for 23 years until her retirement. Martha is survived by two daughters, Gisele A. wife of Fred Scatchard and Mandy S. wife of Steve Sockel both of Exeter Township; Grandchildren, David Scatchard husband of Jennifer and their children, Colette Scatchard and Claire Hoffman; Amy wife of Adam Fullen and their daughter, Emma Fullen; Christopher Sockel husband of Sara, Sophia and Emily Sockel; Michael Lutz husband of Stephanie and their daughters, Lillian and Penelope Lutz; Rachel wife of Joshua Haines and their children, Logan and Hannah Haines; Kristen wife of Mitchell Kriebel and their son, Cole Kriebel. She is also survived by her sister, Sara Spayd. She was pre-deceased by her sons, William N. Lutz in 1996 and The Reverend Seminarian Jerry W. Lutz in 2008 and her siblings, James, Gerald and William Clay and Leona Drumheller. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday January 14, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am in Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Avenue Reading, PA 19606. Interment will be at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
