Darlene D. Leeper, 76, of Jonestown, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at her home. She was the devoted wife of William W. Leeper. They would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on August 1st.
Born in Lebanon on February 26, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Irvin I. and Dorothy A. Kunkle Althouse. Darlene had worked for the Loan Dept. at Lebanon Co. Trust for ten years. She then retired in 2008 from the Northern Lebanon School District after 24 years of service in the cafeteria. She was a member of the Lebanon Bible Fellowship Church and had been a Sunday School teacher for many years. She enjoyed traveling and enjoying God's creation at many National Parks. She enjoyed reading, especially the Bible, which she read through many years. Darlene loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them.
She was a wonderful mother to Julie A. wife of Chris Muritz of Jonestown. She was a caring and thoughtful grandmother to her grandchildren, Alex and Emma, with whom she loved playing and making treats. She was preceded in death by her brother Bruce I. Althouse.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at the Lebanon Bible Fellowship Church, 1635 Mill Rd., Lebanon. There will be a viewing beginning at 6:00 p.m. until the start of the service. Interment will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Host Church Cemetery, Bernville.
