Helene A. Tellam, 79, Reading, passed away peacefully April 4, 2008, at 3:58 p.m. in the Wyomissing Nursing Center, where she was a guest since Jan. 5. She was the wife of Dr. Richard M. Tellam, with whom she celebrated 49 years of marriage. Born in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late George and Josephine (Astle) Bosh.
She was employed by the Fuller Co., Catasauqua, as a private secretary to the president. Helene was a private personal secretary and chief assistant for Dr. Tellam?s practice for 49 years.
She was a 1947 graduate of Northampton High School. Helene was also a graduate of the Philadelphia School of Nursing in 1958.
Helene was a member of First United Church of Christ, Reading.
She was a model for the Charis Corp., Allentown. She was Miss Pennsylvania Good Posture in 1958.
She was very active in the Rolls-Royce Club of America, Bentley Club of America and the Packard Club of America. She enjoyed private flying time with her husband to their Florida and island vacations.
Surviving are two sisters, Lillian, wife of Charles Nush, Egypt; and Joanne Heitman, New Hope. Other survivors include two nieces, Patricia and Kathy Heitman, both of the Lehigh Valley; and a nephew, Charles Heitman, Lehigh Valley.
Memorial services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Cramp Funeral Home Inc., 934 Centre Ave. Inurnment will be in Charles Evans Cemetery.
