NEWBURYPORT, Mass. -- Selma J. (Manor) Fordham, 90, of Newburyport, died early Monday morning, April 3, 2006, at Anna Jaques Hospital.
She was the beloved wife of the late Harmon E. Fordham, who died Jan. 5, 2005.
Born in West Plattsburgh, N.Y., July 29, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Amos and Mary (Smart) Manor.
Mrs. Fordham worked in the housekeeping department of the Anna Jaques Hospital.
She was a longtime communicant of Immaculate Conception Church as well as a member of the Newburyport Golden Agers.
Her survivors include her two sons, Thomas R. Fordham and wife Mary J. (Matthews) of Newburyport and James A. Fordham of Hagerstown, Md.; her two daughters, Dale M. Hines and husband Clarence Reynolds Hines III of Clarkson, Mich., and Donna M. McIntyre and husband E. Michael McIntyre of Hendersonville, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Leona O'Connell of Cadyville, N.Y., Beatrice Brown of Cadyville, N.Y., Hazel Brunelle of New Haven, Conn., and Ruth Swasey of Chandler, Ariz.; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Manor; and a sister, Virginia Manor.
Funeral service from Elliott Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home, 35 Green St., Newburyport will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, Green Street, Newburyport. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Newburyport. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
