Effie N. Yerger, 88, of Palmyra Nursing Home, formerly of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, October 8, 2005, at the home. She was the wife of the late Lloyd W. Yerger. Born in Harrisburg on December 12, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Mike and Sophie Piscky Ninkovich. She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, Fredericksburg, and former member of the Fredericksburg American Legion Auxiliary and Fire Co. Auxiliary, the Mt. Zion Fire Co., and the Perseverance Fire Co. Auxiliary. She is survived by a son John, husband of Mary Jane Yerger of Fredericksburg; brothers Andrew Ninkovich of Fredericksburg, Joe Ninkovich of Cottlesport; and a sister Margaret Miller of Fredericksburg; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter Jeanie Hall, brothers Thomas, George, Nick, Steve, Paul and Mike Ninkovich and sisters Mary and Anna Ninkovich and Katie Meyers and Rosie Sasha. Funeral Wednesday, October 12, at Strauss-Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home, Jonestown. Interment at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
