When Jacob, Executor of the Will, appeared before the township Recorder - He appeared as Jacob Eigler. Simon was refered to as Simon Aichler. Simon was a Shoemaker


I, Simon Aigler, living in Heidelberg Township, Berks County in the state of Pennsylvania ------am weak and sickly in body, but thank God by good memory and understanding, have considered my, and all other People's Mortality, ordered by good, so I make and ordain the following - my Last Will and Testament - principally and firstof all - I release? my soul into the hands of Amighty God, my Savior of whom I received it, and my body to the Earth, to be buried in a Christian like manner as my executors and friends shall think proper with sure and certain hopes that I, at the General resurection of all Death, through the power of god my Lord, shall receive the same again by examining the effects wherewith God blessed me in the Life. I give and bequeath and ordain such in following manner and form towit:
My son, Johan Jacob (Aigler) shall have the whole place which contains sixty eight acres of land besides the Buildings therein belonging - forevere and ever - for two hundred and fifty pounds. -Pennsylvania currency.
My will is - and I ordain -that those two hundred and fifty pounds thereof -be taken to the use of my beloved wife. If she can't do her business through age and weakness, then she may have it to her support likewise in sickness - the necessary medicine shall begot for her thereof, and after her decease, -the remainder of the (two hundred and??) fifty pounds shall be distributed among my two children, Johan Jacob and Sophia Dorthea, in two equal shares.
My Will is, and I ordain, that my beloved wife -Anna Catherine, shall have the Bed and Bedstead with everything thereto belonging likewise to the Old House wherein I and her lived till now - to her use and dwelling. She shall likewise have during the time of her Widowhood, all and every following article which my son Johan Jacob shall give or pay her yearly - and every year to wit. Twelve bushels of wheat, twelve pounds of hemp, and three pounds of wool. Further - one hog that weighs one hundred pounds, twelve pounds of beef, ten pounds of sallow,
one half bushel of salt, four gallons of rum, and as much firewood as she wants - and has occassion for - it must be fetched to her and cut small! One cow must be kept for her in summer in pasture and in winter - in good feed and stalling. Twenty bundles of straw shall be given her and the second crop of the whole meadow, further , she shall have the one half of the kitchen garden and a piece of the potatoe land. Two rows of apple trees shall be hers to use. Two barrels of Good Cyder shall be given to her -and a half barrel of water cyder. She shall have to her use the kitchen dresser and chest. -and as much pewter and furniture as she will have - and has occassion for. She shall have two barrels and one half barrell - the Bees I leave shall be her own.
My son Johan Jacob, who I herewith nominate, constitute and appoint as my sole executor, shall have as Executor and for his first birth-right, eleven pounds beforehand, though this shall at once be his dowry.
My Will is and ordained that my son, Johan Jacob shall take (something about a home) one year after my Decease of the /State the first Bond. of one hundred ???? and my daughter - Sophia Dorthea Grossin, shall take in---- the second Bond of the state of one hundred pounds the second year - but the fifty pounds that she already received of me - shall be deducted thereof by my son, Johan Jacob as Executor of what she has otherwise received to her dowry she shall have beforehand.
My Will is, and ordained, that the other Bonds of the Estate my two children, Johan Jacob and Sophia Dorthea Grossin, shall distributed among one another in the time and year they shall appoint, but one shall have as much as the other.
