Three people were injured, one critically, after a headon crash Sunday on Route 61 in Schuylkill County, state police at Schuylkill Haven said.
One driver, Timothy Hostetter, 22, of Auburn was flown by helicopter to Lehigh Valley Medical Center near Allentown after the crash about 2:30 p.m. in Deer Lake.
He was in critical condition, a hospital spokesman said.
Abby Deeds, 66, Auburn, also was flown to the hospital. No information about her was available.
The other driver, Barry Deeds, 68, Auburn, was taken to Reading Hospital. A spokesman said he was no longer a patient there Sunday night. The Deeds relationship was unclear. Police gave this account: Hostetter was driving south on Route 61 just south of Route 895 west when his car veered off the road and hit the right guide rail, careened back across all three lanes, bounced off the opposite guide rail and ended up facing south in the northbound lane. His vehicle hit the Deeds car head on. Hostetter was not wearing a seat belt. Barry and Abby Deeds were wearing seat belts.
