Caleb Bashore Degler, son of the late John and Elizabeth (Bashore) Degler, was born April 3, 1863, in Upper Tulpehocken Township, Berks County; baptized and confirmed September 17, 1910, by Rev. D. K. Laudenslager; was married to Helena A. Boltz May 12, 1889, by Rev. G. W. Fritsch of Lyons. He died November 25, at an age o f 76 years, 7 months and 22 days, and is survied by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Amy Delp of Reading, and one son Herbert, of Lebanon; also six grandchildren. The funeral was held from the home in Strausstown November 30, 1939, with further services in Zion's Church and burial in the adjoining cemetery.
