Arlene E. Hollenbacher, 87, of Penns Commons, passed away December 7, 2012 in St. Joseph Medical Center.
She was the wife of Howard G. Hollenbacher, who passed away July 16, 1989.
Born in Mohrsville on May 13, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Oliver R. and Herma (Bucks) Balthaser.
Arlene was a 1943 graduate of Ontelaunee High School. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Reading.
Surviving are two sons: Howard Dean Hollenbacher, husband of Ramona F. of Cumru Twp., and Craig P. Hollenbacher, husband of Clare P of Sinking Spring; 5 grandchildren: H. Dean Hollenbacher Jr. of Ephrata, Amy L. Wolfe of Lebanon, Katie J. Paparo of Sinking Spring, Amanda J. Pierce of Collegeville and Sara A. Huckleberry of Sinking Spring; 7 great-grandchildren: Noah, Gabrielle, Jacob, Isaac, Megan, Connor and James; a brother, Warren Balthaser of Centerport; and 2 sisters: Sarah Hoffman of Mohrsville and Madlyn Umbenhouer, wife of Gene of West Lawn.
She was predeceased by 2 brothers: Ralph and Lawrence Balthaser; and 3 sisters: Mabel Steffe, Wilma Kunsman and Esther Swanger.
Services will be Wednesday at 10:00 AM in Bean Funeral Home, 129 East Lancaster Ave., Shillington. Friends and relatives will be received Wednesday 9:00 to 10:00 AM. Interment will be made in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
