Wayne R. Kauffman, 74, of Sinking Spring, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023. He was the loving husband of Laura S. Kauffman, with whom he shared 49 and a half years of marriage. Wayne, a son of the late Charles L. and Geraldine F. (Fassnacht) Kauffman, was born in West Reading. In addition to his wife, he is survived by, two daughters, Tracy L. Blimline, wife of Chad E., and Nancy B. Green, wife of Andrew W.; a son, Mark R. Kauffman, husband of Kristen H.; a sister, Yvonne K. Landis, wife of Jay; and fifteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, C. Brian Kauffman. Wayne obtained his Bachelor of Science and Master's degree in Education from Kutztown State College and was their Drum Major for 3 years. He was an elementary school teacher, having taught at Sinking Spring Elementary for 4 years, and Lincoln Park Elementary for 31 years, retiring in 2005. Wayne loved reading and singing in his college and church choir. He was a member of the Reading Buccaneer Drum and Bugle Corp., Reading Buccaneers Alumni, and Celebration Brass. He was inducted into the Buccaneer Hall of Fame in 2000. Wayne was a member of St. John's (Hain's) Church. A service will be held on Monday, February 13, at 11:00 AM at Lamm & Witman Funeral Home, 243 W. Penn Ave., Wernersville, with Rev. Mark Johnson officiating. A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. John's (Hain's) Church Cemetery.
