Marlin W. Bashore, 71, of Upper Tulpehocken Twp., passed away Tuesday July 9 in Reading Hospital of natural causes. He was married to Janet E. (Crouse) Bashore. Marlin and Janet were married for 20 years.
Born in Fredericksburg, he was the son of the late Walter and Jennie (Wagner) Bashore.
He was employed by the former Dana Corporation for 10 years. Prior to Dana Corporation, he was employed as a truck mechanic for Sechler Poultry in Strausstown.
He was a 1959 graduate of Bethel High School and served in the Air Force. He was involved in racing at the former Reading Fairgrounds. He was vice president of the Northkill Rod and Gun Club where he was very involved in trap shooting.
He loved German Shepherds, owning 13 over his lifetime. He was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling and crossword puzzles.
Surviving is a sister, Mildred, widow of George Hagerty of Glenolden, PA. He is predeceased by a nephew, Larry Hagerty. Family and friends will be received for a visitation on Sunday July 14 from 6 until 8 p.m. in the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 N. Main St., Bernville.
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Salem Reformed Church Cemetery in Bethel.
