Guy G. Klinger, 85, formerly of Womelsdorf, passed away peacefully in the evening hours of Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, of natural causes in the Sanatoga Center, Pottstown, where he was a resident since 2009.
He was the husband of the late Kathleen I. (Illig) Klinger, who died June 17, 2006.
Born May 6, 1927, in Auburn, Schuylkill Co., PA, he was the son of the late Paul and Annie (Reinhart) Klinger.
He was a graduate of Auburn High School.
He was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Army.
Guy was a barber, Realtor, builder, investor, and local businessman in Womelsdorf for many years until his retirement.
Both Guy and his late wife were members of Zion Lutheran Church, Womelsdorf, where he had served on Council. He was a lifetime member of the Womelsdorf Rod & Gun Club and had been a member of the Womelsdorf Fire Co., and the Womelsdorf VFW. He also served on Womelsdorf Borough Council.
He is survived by his children, Thomas I., husband of Sharon Klinger, Wayne, and Carol A., wife of Thomas Sierzega, Catasauqua; his siblings, Clarence, husband of Sandy Klinger, and Anna, widow of John Adams, both of Hamburg; and a sister-in-law, Alma Klinger, also of Hamburg.
Six grandchildren: Andrew and Lindsey Klinger and Danielle, Bradley, Can-dice and Timothy Sierzega, also survive.
He was predeceased by a brother, Eugene Klinger.
Funeral services will be held from Zion Lutheran Church, 300 West High St., Womelsdorf, PA 19567, on Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Womelsdorf Union Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the church. Alternate memorials may be made to his church.
