John R. Weidner, 98, formerly of Fleetwood, passed away on May 28, 2014 in The Lutheran Home at Topton.
He was the husband late Ethel K. (DeLong) Weidner, who passed on March 11, 2013. Born on July 27, 1915 in Pricetown, he was the son of the late Willow V. Weidner and Katie A. (Reinert) Weidner.
He was a member of Fleetwood Bible Church.
Prior to his retirement, John had worked for Ludens in Reading as a machine shop foreman.
He is survived by his children Sylvia D. (Weidner), wife of Jeff Stewart, of High Point, NC and Gerald D. Weidner of Fleetwood.
Also surviving are three grandchildren: Cynthia (Stewart), wife of Bill Karr, of Lake Dallas, TX; Jeff Stewart Jr., and his wife Mindi, of Pittsburg, TX and Shannon Weidner of Savannah, GA. Also, three great-grandchildren Caitlin Karr, Cathleen Karr and Allyn Kaylee Stewart.
John was preceded in death by his siblings Wilson, Harvey, Raymond, Ira, Paul, Mabel, Annie, Elsie, Mamie and Hilda.
Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. from the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood. Burial will be New Jerusalem Cemetery.
