Charles Henry "Punkin" Wirth passed away at his home on Mt. Carmel route 4 Sunday morning, July 27, 1947, at 9:30 o'clock, after an illness of two months. Mr. Wirth, a farmer, was a native of Mount Carmel, Ill., son of John Henry and Christina Kerstine Wirth and was born April 4, 1863, making his age at death 84 years, 3 months and 23 days.
He was married to Nancy E. Hayes April 7, 1895 in White County. She survives him together with three children, Jacob E. Wirth, Leonard A. Wirth and Harley O. Wirth, all of Mt. Carmel; also three sisters; Margaret Whitfield, Olney; Elizabeth Middleton, Sacramento, Cal; and Daisy Hill, Bend, Oregon. There are 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were brother; Harry, Johnnie and Guy Wirth, and one sister Olie Wirth and one grandson Harold E. Wirth.
Mr. Wirth was removed to the Roy D. Short Company funeral home where services will be held from the Memorial Chapel Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. W. M. Reed of Olney officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
