Carole L. Heckman, 67, died Jan. 25, 2009, at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach. She was born in Pottsville, Pa., and lived in Indian River County since 1972, coming from her birthplace. Before retirement, she worked for Piper Aircraft as a machinist. Survivors include her daughters, Mary Thomas of Fort Pierce, Christine Paunt of Kentucky and Jeanie Sampson of Sebastian; sons, Lee Heckman, Gerald Heckman and Donald Heckman, all of Vero Beach; sister, Phillis Ebling of Pottsville, Pa.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. SERVICES: Memorial services were conducted Jan. 27 at Lakeside Fellowship Church. Arrangements are by Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory in Sebastian.
