Esther Mae (Abrams) Schaffer of Bristol, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the Silver Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 101.
Born in Hulmeville, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Freda (Sobie) Abrams. Esther was known to be a fantastic cook, loved spending time with her family, and enjoyed sewing and quilting. She was a long-time member of the Jesse Soby Post #148 Ladies Auxiliary.
Esther was preceded in death by her husband Elwood "Whitey" Schaffer and two sons, Robert and Billy Schaffer. She is survived by four children, Janet Cummings (late Bill), Elwood "Tom" Schaffer, Raymond Gerald Schaffer (late Tina) and David Gene Schaffer (Ruth); a daughter-in-law, Dolly Schaffer; 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Esther's life celebration starting at 9:30 Tuesday, July 25, at Dunn/Givnish of Langhorne, 378 S. Bellevue Ave. (at Gillam Ave.), Langhorne, PA 19047 and to participate in her 11 a.m. funeral service. Interment will be in Newtown Cemetery.
