Denton J. ?Denny? Nester, 87, formerly of Wyomissing and later of Naples, FL, passed away Sunday, August 22, 2021, in the care of Vitas Hospice surrounded by the comfort of his children, Lisa and Michael. He was the widower of Rosalie M. (Longo) Nester, who passed away in 2012.
Born in Reading to the late Denton C. and Jennie Nester, Denny graduated from Kutztown High School ?51. He studied accounting at University of Penn and later earned his bachelor's degree at Ursinus College. He was a United States Army veteran.
Denny began his career at Carpenter Technology and later worked for Empire Steel Castings of Laureldale as the company?s Treasurer.
He took great joy in bird watching, listening to music, and spending time with his family and friends.
Left to treasure Denny?s memory are his children, Lisa M. Woodward (Jon) of Sicklerville, NJ, and Michael D. Nester (Debbie) of Pottstown; his grandchildren, Eric and Marc Nester; and his brother, Richard Nester (Bonnie) of Topton. In addition to his wife, Rosalie, and his parents, Denny was predeceased by his brother, Carl, and his sister, Betty.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Denny?s memory may be offered to the American Heart Association, 300 5th Avenue, Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02451.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 30, 2021, at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of St. George at Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Rd, Reading, PA 19605, with entombment to follow.
