Kenneth A. Bagenstose, Sr., 74, of Alsace Twp. passed away Monday evening in the Lutheran Home at Topton. Chip was married to his beloved wife, the late Sandra L. (Yoder) Bagenstose who passed away October 30, 2016. Born in West Reading, he was the son of the late Kenneth S. Bagenstose and Sara (DeSantis) Bagenstose. He was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1966 and attended Penn State Berks for two years. He was employed for thirty-six years by Carpenter Technology Corporation in Reading. He enjoyed attending car shows and owned several street rods and Corvettes over the years. He loved dirt track racing and drag racing, regularly traveling to Syracuse Fairgrounds and Maple Grove Raceway. He also loved working on his cousin Meme DeSantis's modifieds and sprint cars. He enjoyed going out to dine and attending son Jason's basketball and soccer games. He was known far and wide for his colorful language and sense of humor. Chip will be deeply missed by his two loving sons, Kenneth A. "Chipper" Bagenstose, Jr. of Temple and Jason A. Bagenstose of Blandon. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, January 18th from Noon until 3 PM in the Evergreen Country Club, Inc., 415 Hartz Rd., Fleetwood, PA 19522. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Sandra L. Bagenstose Memorial Scholarship fund.
