He retired from Bethlehem Steel in 1969; worked as a salesman for Watt & Shand, Lancaster; and was a member of Church of the Brethren. He was the widower of Ruth J. Morris. Surviving are four sons, Eugene W., Carl V., and Gary L., all of Elizabethtown, and James C. of Lancaster; six daughters, Anna May Ebersole, Kathleen Brubaker, Joyce Elaine Strickler, and Linda L. Greenberger, all of Elizabethtown, and Rita J. Brandt and Jacqueline Gibler, both of Palmyra; two brothers, Claude of Myerstown, and Wilbur of Pine Grove, a sister, Maude M. Longenecker of Palmyra; 29 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. Services will be held 10: 30 a.m. Wednesday in the Miller Funeral Home. Burial will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery, North Londonderry Twp.
