Aurelio Gonzalez, 85, formerly of Maidencreek Township, died Sept. 30 at 4 a.m. in his residence on Tuckerton Road, Muhlenberg Township.
His wife, Marie E. (Kerr) Gonzalez, died Feb. 9, 2001.
Born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico, he was a son of the late Macario and Pedra (Vega) Gonzalez.
Gonzalez was employed for 20 years by Prestolite Battery Corp., Muhlenberg Township, retiring in 1984.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fleetwood, where he was a former councilman and sexton.
Surviving are a son, Rafael A., Temple; and a daughter, LaDell (Gonzalez) Hoffmann, Muhlenberg Township.
Other survivors include two sisters, Carmen Gonzalez, Bayamon, Puerto Rico, and Aurea (Gonzalez) Sotomayor, Aguadilla, Puerto Rico; and three brothers: Angel and Rafael, both of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico; and Ernesto, Bayamon.
There also are four grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Milkins Funeral Home Inc., Temple. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.
