Rev. Eldion R. Behney, 87, of 900 E. Evergreen Road, Lebanon, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, in the Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Esther Levengood Behney.
Born Oct. 16, 1916, in Womelsdorf, he was a son of the late John Henry and Sophia M. Klopp Behney. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a clerk for Car Parts Inc., formerly ES Youse Co., for 34 years before retiring. He and his wife served as pastors of the Lebanon Gospel Center for 25 years.
Surviving are son Jonathan R., husband of Elizabeth Behney of Lebanon; sisters Lillian Sweigart of Bowmansville and Elizabeth Minnich of Lebanon; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughter Jewel V. Schirmer; brothers Horace, Richard, John, Harold and Charles Behney; and sisters Irene Woods, Mildred Strickler and Margaret Behney.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, preceded by a calling time from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. Interment will be in Millbach Community Cemetery.
