A member of the American and Pennsylvania library associations, she was a librarian for Kutztown Public Library for 38 years before retiring in 2001. She earned a bachelor's degree in library science from Kutztown University. Born in Pottsville, she was a daughter of Helen (Berger) Michel of Schuylkill Haven, Schuylkill County, and the late Karl A. Michel. She was a Lutheran. She was a member of the East Penn chapter of Order of the Eastern Star, Kutztown, and the Kutztown Fire Company auxiliary. Survivors: Mother; daughters, Heidi Tobash of Schuylkill Haven, Holly of Lancaster; four grandchildren. Services: 1 p.m. Friday, Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home, 25 E. Main St., Schuylkill Haven.
