Marlowe F. Leibensperger, 84, formerly of Kutztown, died Oct. 20 in the Lutheran Home at Topton.
His wife, Annabelle M. (Stein) Leibensperger, died in 2002.
Born in Kutztown, he was a son of the late Dr. George F. and Jennie K. (Merkel) Leibensperger.
Leibensperger had been employed for 20 years as a salesman by Modern Handling, Kuhnsville, Lehigh County, retiring in 1985. He had previously been employed by Bethlehem Steel Corp., and also operated the Atlantic Gas Station in Kutztown until 1965.
He was a member of St. John?s Lutheran Church, Kutztown, where he was past council president and headed numerous church committees.
Leibensperger was a 1938 graduate of Kutztown High School.
He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II.
Leibensperger was past president of the Kutztown Rotary Club, and a founding member of the Kutztown Jaycees.
Survivors include a son, Marlowe G.; and two daughters, Crystal A. (Leibensperger) Johnson and Merrily J. (Leibensperger) DeTurk, all of Kutztown.
Other survivors include a brother, Randolph J., Kutztown.
There also are five grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in St. John?s Church. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. Edward J. Hildenbrand Funeral Home Inc., Kutztown, is in charge of arrangements.
